Mothers on the front lines
Fighting for life, for the people's army, and for the future of the country
We, tens of thousands of mothers of soldiers past, present and future, from all sectors and political opinions in the country, call on the Prime Minister, the Minister of Defense, the Chief of Staff and the Head of the Personnel Department to prove that they are worthy of our sons and daughters, who serve in the regular and reserve forces. We demand an immediate change in the conduct of the war and the national order of priorities for the safety and well-being of our serving children and the security of the country.
Our demands:
1. Equal Conscription Now: The time has come for true equality. Immediate enforcement of the Defense Service Law is required, including the conscription of all those liable in the Haredi sector without exception. The IDF needs 17,000 additional soldiers to defend the country. Send the orders to all 80,000 yeshiva students and avrahim immediately. There is no need for new legislation, enforce the Defense Service Law now! Conscripting Haredi will ease the burden on those serving and contribute to the security of the country.
2. Stop the burnout: The ongoing fighting is causing severe burnout among the fighters. We demand a significant reduction in operational workload, improved service conditions, and a significant investment in mental health care. Every soldier must receive the support needed to cope with the experiences and challenges he experiences. The ongoing stress, mental and physical strain, and the lack of sufficient support lead to situations that could endanger human lives. We demand that rules and criteria be defined for times of combat and rest, as is the case all over the world. Burnout is not a weakness, and it is possible to grow and become stronger from it.
3. Make it easier for service members and their families: The constant burden on soldiers affects the entire family. We demand that they not extend regular service, not double the days of reserve duty, and not extend the age of exemption from reserve duty. This causes significant harm to family life and employment, and thus harms society and the economy.
4. Rebuild the IDF: In order to ensure our security, the IDF must be rebuilt immediately. Significant investment is required in equipment, training, and soldier welfare.
We call on everyone who values the country to sign the petition, share it, and contact elected officials.
In the name of the Mother, we will do it and succeed!
